Euro 2016: France qualify for last 16, Slovakia beat Russia

The host nation, France, have become the first team to qualify for the round of 16 at the ongoing European Championship, after they beat Albania 2-0 in Marseille.

Antoine Griezmann and Dimitri Payet scored in the dying minutes of the match, to break through a stubborn Albanian side and reach the knockout stages.

In the earlier game in Group A, Switzerland were held to a 1-1 draw by Romania in Paris.

Marek Hamsik was the star of the show, as Slovakia beat Russia 2-1 in Lille in Group B.

The Napoli man picked out Vladimir Weiss for the opener in the 32nd minute, before doubling their lead before the break.
