Breaking News : Notorious Arms dealer Arrested

The Special Task Force in Plateau State, otherwise known as Operation Save Haven, says it has arrested a notorious arms dealer and kingpin.

The Media and Information Officer of the Task Force, Ikedichi Iweha, in a statement on Wednesday to update the public on its activities, said Nanbong Sambo Maidoki, alias NSK, has been on the wanted list of the sector since 2013.

The sector’s spokesman said: “Nanbong Sambo Maidokia, alias NSK, evaded arrest by personnel of the OPSH in September 2013 in which in incidence 2 AK 47 rifles were recovered from him in an abandoned vehicle.

“He has since been on the wanted persons list of security agencies in connection with arms running on the Plateau.”Iweha said Maidoki was arrested in a hotel in Langtang North Local Government Area of Plateau State on June 18, 2016 at about 1pm, following very intensive intelligence tracking.

He said: “Tried effortlessly to escape again but was apprehended. A search in his house and his Toyota Highlander jeep vehicle with registration number AJ 174 RSA revealed neatly concealed under back seat one rocket propelled grenade tube launcher, one RPG Bomb changer; all military style weapon and ammunition.”

The Special Task Force reiterated its readiness to respond to any act of criminality and all forms of threats.

It assured citizens that any useful information given to its personnel shall be treated in confidence.
