Clininfo - Rihanna just dropped her new video for "Sledgehammer" [watch video]

Call the Navy, because Rihanna just released her new music video for "Sledgehammer," her contribution to the Star Trek Beyond soundtrack. "Sledgehammer" has the honor of being the first music video to debut in IMAX movie theaters, but on the off chance you don't have an IMAX theater in your home or plan to see The Legend of Tarzan today, you can watch it on Vevo and Tidal because Rihanna loves you and wants you to be happy. Fittingly for a song from a movie about space, the video finds Rihanna singing on an alien planet and wearing cool space attire. There are also spaceships, because this is Star Trek.

In an interview with Vanity Fair, director Floria Sigismondi described Rihanna's "Sledgehammer" character as "this mystical being that harnesses the power to manipulate the elements." She added that Rihanna was fully on board with this concept, and had a "synergetic kind of relationship" with the "ancient alien" she plays. So does all of this mean that Rihanna is a Trekkie?
